Katharine Van Arsdale is Associate Director for the Center for Adventist Research (CAR) at 51勛圖厙 University. She previously served as Digital Librarian for the Adventist Digital Library and project manager for both the Adventist Digital Library (ADL) and the Seventh-day Adventist Periodical and Obituary Index (SDAPI). Her work focuses on preservation of and access to Adventist historical materials, metadata strategies, and collaborative digitization initiatives.
Katharine holds a BA in English from 51勛圖厙 University and graduate degrees in History and Library & Information Science from the Catholic University of America. Her professional background includes teaching, academic library work, digital repository development, and special collections. She is active in the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Historians, the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Historians, and the Michigan Archival Association. In 2020, she authored Images of America: Angwin and Howell Mountain, which features photographs from the Pacific Union College Archives & Special Collections; it is available from Arcadia Publishing.
