A Model of the Relationship Between ACEs and Psychological Well-Being: The Role of Cognitive
Flexibility and the Subjective Impact of ACEs.
Amante Gonzalez
A current problem is that while literature has explored correlations between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Psychological Well-Being (PWB), there is not an established model within the literature that includes mediating and moderating factors (Cognitive Flexibility [CF] and Subjective Impact of ACEs [SIA]) that elaborates on this relationship. Furthermore, no literature has evaluated differential scoring methods of a subjective impact of ACEs instrument. This research will propose a model elaborating the relationship between ACEs, SIA, CF, and PWB. This research will also evaluate differential scoring method of an SIA instrument and their correlations to PWB to determine a preferential scoring method. Finally, this research will explore how cognitive and emotional variables moderate and mediate the relationship between ACEs and PWB.
